The Romans had three branches in their republic. The first one was the Patricians that was the wealthy people. the next was the Plebeians they were the farmers, merchants, and artisans. The last was the Tribunes they were the elected representatives to protect the plebeians. In the Empire was ruled by the first King Romulus. It was a rich and powerful city during the next hundred years. The empire grew more and more difficult for the city of Rome to manage. Julius Caesar the leader for the Romans during the ancient times. The leaders in the senate began to worry because Caesar had a lot of power. The poor people would look up to him because he would give them jobs and rights to vote. The Senates did not like that and so they murdered Julius Caesar.
Augustus Caesar was never declared emperor of Rome by the senate. He assumed it by seeing after defeating Mark Antony. His powers were hidden behind the constitutional forms. Augustus created a standing army for the first time. Laws were organized into twelve sections. these laws talked about property, crime, family, theft manage, and inheritance.
